CTEVH is now CTEBVI

CA Transcribers and Educators for the Blind and Visually Impaired

At the final business meeting on Sunday, March 15, CTEVH members were asked for the final time to consider a name change for our organization.  Several suggestions were made but only one motion was offered:  CA Transcribers and Educators for the Blind and Visually Impaired.  The discussion that followed was lively and informative.

There was no support at all for continuing the characterization of blindness and visual impairment as being synonymous.  There was no support for either being considered a handicap.

The question was called and the vote taken:  It was unanimous!  CTEVH will begin immediately to become CTEBVI.  Watch for the many changes that will need to take place for CTEVH, Inc. to actually become CTEBVI, Inc., everything from refiling legal documents to migrating to a new website.  Of course, we already purchased the new domain and the transition should be seamless to our visitors.

We will be continuing to celebrate over the coming year and to get all the legal steps taken to actually become CTEBVI, Inc.

Please put our 51st annual conference on your calendar:  April 23-25, 2010 at LAX Marriott.  Watch for group code and more announcements.

Please send us ideas and wishes to fill our new pages that could make a world of difference for you and hundreds -- thousands? -- of other visitors.

CTEBVI is a unique organization of:
